Complete a job interest card to be notified when the next recruitments are open and accepting applications. When the job posts, read the job announcement closely and review minimum qualifications, recruitment process requirements and important dates. Complete the application.
Written Exam
You will be required to take a written exam through the National Testing Network (NTN). Once we receive your application, you will receive a notification to complete the exam. The written test must be completed by the deadline listed in the job announcement.
Physical Fitness Test
Candidates who successfully complete the written exam will be invited to participate in the Physical Fitness Test (PFT). More information regarding the PFT, including the available dates, will be listed on the job posting. The location and times will be provided via email to candidates invited to participate in the PFT.

Oral Board Interview
Candidates who successfully pass the Physical Fitness Test will be invited to participate in an Oral Board Interview.
Chiefs' Selection Interview
Top scoring candidates will be invited to participate in Chiefs’ Structured Selection Interviews. The interview panel will consist of Chiefs and members of the department

CPAT REquired
You will be required to complete a Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) by the time of final offer. The CPAT consists of eight separate events performed in a continuous manner and is a pass/fail examination. The CPAT must be completed in 10 minutes 20 seconds (or less) with each event completed correctly.
Henderson Fire will only accept CPATs for a specific date range. Dates for valid CPATs will be listed on the job posting, any CPAT taken outside of the dates listed will be considered invalid.
