Working for Henderson Fire Department
The Henderson Fire Department is an innovative leader within the American fire service. HFD has created a culture of excellence through an intentional focus on meeting and exceeding industry best practices. Our primary motivation for excellence is centered on our foundational philosophy of why we exist: because ‘People Matter.’
- HFD is a full-service “all hazards” emergency response organization, which provides safe and effective management of fire suppression, emergency medical services, patient transport, technical rescue, and hazardous materials responses.
- Operations are conducted from thirteen fire stations, strategically located throughout the city’s 121 square miles, to provide rapid and effective response.
- Fire and rescue services are delivered utilizing thirteen engine companies, twelve advanced life support rescue units, three advanced life support medic units, three 100’ ladder trucks, one heavy rescue, one hazardous materials response unit, and five off-road terrain vehicles.
- HFD is the only ISO class 1, multi-accredited fire department in the nation, maintaining accreditation through the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) and the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS).
